Visual Q&A

Now Apricon launches the Visual Q&A on a broad front. The cooperation with Skanska has resulted in a effective solution for management of issues and decisions when working with Visual design. The Visual Q&A has been tested in a number of projects for Skanska and features have been developed in close dialogue with their users. The service is now offered to all customers and several projects are already up and running.

The objective for the cooperation with Skanska has always been to create conditions for fun and effective meetings where the focus is on issues and decisions. With the Visual Q&A in Apricon meeting participants add their questions prior to the meeting. At the meeting itself, there is a clear flow for working with old issues, new issues, key issues and decisions. After the meeting taken decisions are documented in the decision log.

The latest version has new features to attach or link documents as well as a nice filter function which makes it easy to search in the question log and the decision log. This makes the digital benefits even better with clear communication and increased availability as a result.

Block Trollhättan 7 in Malmö is one of the projects using the Visual Q&A today. The Office building, which is about 12 000 m2 lettable floor area will be built at Universitetsholmen, close to the main train station and with a very nice view of the harbor. The buildings are built in brick with inspiration from old port warehouses.

“I have been working with Post-it notes for a while now and like working that way. But the fact is that the Visual Q&A is just as interactive and provides several advantages. You are able to write complete answers and attach files to the question which improves communication. At the same time, you get good documentation that is always available and that can be presented in different ways. ” Anna Björklund, Project Manager, Skanska Öresund AB

Skanska is developing a new and exciting area in Tullholmsviken near Karlstad city centre and at the same time with a scenic location on the shore of Lake Vänern. Apartments in Brf Strandudden are planned to take advantage of the contact with water. Interest in the project has been very high from the start and all the apartments were sold quickly.

“It’s very easy to get started with Visual Q&A, everybody understands right away how it works. No questions are lost and with the ability to attach files where you specify what is being requested makes the communication very clear compared to indicate doodles or explanations on tiny Post-it notes. It also saves a lot of time when the participants prepare their questions in advance. The analog version requires a lot of administration both before and after a meeting. ” Fredrik Rydberg, project manager for construction production, Skanska

Region Skåne links health care projects http://apricon.se/region-skane-links-health-care-projects/ Fri, 18 Mar 2016 09:21:08 +0000 http://apricon.wpengine.com/?p=3231 Region Skåne makes extensive investments in the development and modernisation of health care in the region. Investments are made in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg and Ängelholm. The initiative is the largest Region Skåne has made since the 1970s and goes under the name Hospital of the future.

Over the next eight years Region Skåne invests six billion in the hospital area in Malmö. The goal is a modern hospital that is well prepared for future health care. Malmö Medical Center will get two new buildings, a new health care building, a new service centre and an extended culvert system under the ground. With the modernisation of the hospital area conditions are created for a high-quality and safe health care in the future. Development takes place in close work with the City of Malmö.

Skanska has signed cooperation agreement with Region Skåne in respect of the construction of the new health care building at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö. The project places great demands on coordination as it consists of several different parts and to ensure that the day-to-day operations in the area will be affected as little as possible.

Hospital building in the middle of ongoing operations is a challenge. The needs of the hospital staff, patients and visitors is extremely important to us. We want to build a hospital of the future without disturbing the daily activity in the area.

Visual Q&A makes strong impressions from Skåne to Kv. Norrland http://apricon.se/visual-q-and-a-makes-strong-impressions-from-skane-to-norrland/ Fri, 18 Mar 2016 09:19:19 +0000 http://apricon.wpengine.com/?p=3252 The close cooperation between Skanska and Apricon on the Visual Q&A has resulted in a product and a process in which the best of the analog world combines with the digital. The focus is still on the meeting, where the issues can be effectively treated and decisions about key issues processed with good overview. The advantage is that with Apricon, you dont need to wait for a protocol to be prepared and sent out after the meeting, the decision log is already in place. With the log that is created, users can easily search and sort issues by different properties, such as the discipline that has created the issue or been assigned same.

The Visual frågetavlan can adapt to your way of working.

Now five pilot projects from Skanska have used our Visual Q&A for some time and the response has been very positive. One of the projects that switched over from the analog board to our digital variant is Kv. Norrland in Helsingborg. In doing so, they achieved more flexibility in the project and are not dependent on a specific meeting room. In addition, the design meetings are much more effective with meeting participants who submit their questions before the meeting’s start.

Jonathan

Jonathan S

The main advantage of using the Visual Q&A in Apricon is that the design leader saves time in managing the issues that come up during a design meeting. When meeting participants are required to prepare their questions before the meeting almost no administration at all is nessesary for the design leader.
-Jonathan Skoglund, Design Leader, Skanska

KV. Norrland is drawn by Jaenecke Architects.

Kv. Norrland is part of an urban renewal project in Helsingborg making the South side to extend even further South. Skanska has been commissioned by Magnolia Home to building the project which has modern architecture and includes 327 rental apartments spread over four buildings. Common to the four houses is the concept with an enclosed courtyard and loft resources due to tough sound volume demands with the Malmöleden and the Oljehamnsleden close by. The high requirements puts high demands on the design process and the project benefits a lot from the advantages of the Visual Q&A.

Apricon now offers the new module to all customers and several have already started using the Visual Q&A. This allows the development to continues at high speed and new applications will be presented during the year.

A more “social” Apricon – Dialogue http://apricon.se/a-more-social-apricon-c3-dialogue/ Wed, 16 Oct 2013 14:05:10 +0000 http://blog.apricon.se/?p=837 Now you have an easy and informal way to communicate with the entire project team with the help of the new “Dialogue”. This can all project members make posts, share photos or commenting on other people’s posts. The function can almost be likened to a private “Facebook feed” for the project. It provides the space for dialogue among all project members outside the scheduled meetings and uppstyrda agendas. Create interest and involvement in the project through to inform and discuss the project’s development.

The dialogue is something to take note of when you are signed in to Apricon. It will not create a nuisance emails in your Inbox, but each one can follow the discussion at their convenience. There is a function to display the latest posts on the home page so that everyone sees when written anything new. For important information that must reach out quickly, we recommend that you continue using notifications for “communicating”.

We know that the dialogue will be welcomed by many users. Some will be more involved with the creation of posts while many will benefit from reading them. It is also easy to comment on a post and initiate a dialogue-don’t miss the button at the bottom right-hand corner of each post!

It will be exciting to see how the feature is received and we’d love to have your comments.

A more “social” Apricon – home page http://apricon.se/a-more-social-apricon-c3-home-page/ Tue, 04 Jun 2013 08:56:47 +0000 http://blog.apricon.se/?p=654 Project’s home page is a potential communication channel! Because it appears to everyone when you come into the project, it is a good place to highlight important information relating to all. Today provides the ability to view images Apricon, text messages, links, calendar and contacts on the home screen. Now, we develop a new version with improved administration and design to facilitate the use and give a nice first impression.

In addition, the home page will be extended with support for dialogue, activity feeds and project information. These new features will work as tabs on the home page. The first tab will be launched, “dialog” that acts much like a “Facebook feed” for the project where everyone has the opportunity to write posts and comment. You will also be able to view the latest posts from the diary directly on the home page.

We will get back to you with a description of the next tabs.

A more “social” Apricon – My Portal http://apricon.se/a-more-social-apricon-c3-my-portal/ Tue, 12 Feb 2013 15:37:20 +0000 http://blog.apricon.se/?p=550 Now the development started by the next step in creating a “socialare” project network. After logging in, our users to come to a small “portal” with extended functionality compared to today’s project list. The primary function is still that quickly and easily choose which project you want to open, which you do directly from the home page. There will also be a tab with a more detailed overview of your project. Here you get directly know how many new documents have been added and whether you have documents or issues requiring your attention.

Another more social feature is the “my contacts”. Here you can collect contacts from your project and create a “shortcut” to those who you communicate with frequently. By creating a personal list of contacts, you can also keep them after the end of the project. All users will also be able to choose whether they want to be searchable outside of their projects. This will mean that you can search for people by name, company, city or profession.

We hope these new features will be appreciated by our users. Moreover, we are convinced that the new design will give a better first impression and enhances your experience of Apricon.
