Stockholm invests healthy

Stockholm County Council is making one of its biggest ever investments in healthcare. This includes three major projects in Danderyd: a new Accident and Emergency Department, the redevelopment of hospital wards and of receipt of goods. The total project costs amount to SEK3.2 Billion.

The new A&E  Department is located between the main and southern part of the hospital site and due to be completed in late 2017. The building will serve as a hub connecting the different parts of the hospital.

A wards project is redeveloping and upgrading six wards in a three stage process due for completion in 2021.

A receipt of goods project is redeveloping reception to increase capacity. This is scheduled for completion by late 2017.

To assure better cooperation between these three projects and Locum overall project management they linked the projects in Apricon.

By using a comprehensive project in Apricon for common data and linking the three main projects steering documents are available to everyone with no loss of integrity. It ensures a clearer and more secure communication and also saves time, says Kent Söderström, project manager at Locum.

Right from word go, we used case management in Apricon to deal with issues and document decisions at the design stage. Now we have created our own case series for production of the A&E buildings to manage questions and answers. Having everything in one place and readily accessible to everyone who needs it, is very convenient, says Robert Sahlin, head of information management at Ebab.

We now document every important decision from various forums in the decision-making log, sorted by project and decision-making forum. Having everything so transparent and accessible in one place makes life easier for everyone involved, says Maria Viklund, project administrator at Locum.
