3D-modelling creates good understanding

ÅF and Dell get good exposure when they move to Hagaporten III in Solna in October. The modern office building is located opposite the Haga Park on E4 with 170 000 vehicles crossing per day.

Skanska is turnkey contractors for the construction project. To coordinate the 3D models from different disciplines in the project Björn Källkvist used Navis Works.

After about half the construction period we got access to Navis Works. It was a bit late because we had all construction documents completed then. We still chose to work with the program because it worked well for us clients and project leader, says Björn Källkvist, installation Coordinator at Skanska.

With the help of the software controlled critical parts of the project as technology areas, shafts and tight spaces.

The entrepreneurs appreciated the software to the increased understanding of the documents and how the building would look like in the critical parts, says Björn Källkvist.

By understanding increases, it is possible to find errors in an earlier stage, and then you can also buy time, save money and improve quality, notes Bear the source branch. With integrated 3D models also makes it easier to visualize a planned project for a potential customer. Björn says he certainly would work with coordination of 3D models in the future.

It only applies if everyone involved, from designers and drafters to assemblers, learn the software and increase their competence so that it becomes a standard method to work after, says Björn Källkvist.

About Hagaporten III
– Skanska is total contractor and Strängbetong is Prefab supplier
– The building is seven stories high over land and covers 28,000 square meters of office space
– Skanska Fastigheter is a partner in the EU project GreenBuilding. Hagaporten  III has therefore approved the building according to the requirements for energy efficient GreenBuildings real estate. To reach this status, a building must have at least 25 % less energy use than the Swedish requirements of a newly built property of the same type
