Max IV a scientific partnering project

Max IV – Sweden’s most extensive individual research initiative eve,r uses Apricon as a project network.
Peab and Wihlborgs have together formed the company Fastighets AB ML4 which becomes property developer in the project. ML4 will implement, own and manage the project which is carried out as a partnering tenant, property developer and entrepreneur interacts. The tenant will be Max Lab at Lund University.

With Max IV Sweden will become a world leader in materials and nano research. The plant will use so called synchrotron radiation, which gives us the opportunity to study material molecule for molecule, atom for atom.

The research could affect us all by new developments and products in several areas such as: medicine, biotechnology, electronics, environment and energy.

The project is divided into two stages:

A tunnel 400 meters long, 10 meters wide, 4 meters high with walls and ceilings that are 2 meters thick and made by concrete. The tunnel will make way for linac accelerator, which will shoot off synchrotron light beams.

A circular 10-12 meter high building, with a circumference of 650 meters.

Overall, the entire project is 44,000 sqm. Added to this is 40,000 cubic meters of concrete will be needed.
Max IV will be used by 2015. A total of will between 150-200 people to be employed here and the facility will be used by about 2,000 scholars each year.

Apricon has been involved in the project from early on and put up projects the network together with Lund University and Sweco Architects. Currently use project Apricon and adapted as requested by Peab and Wihlborgs.

In the, to the surface widespread project, they work with state codes according to a coordinate system which has also been used as a property for the documents. This gives an opportunity to structure the information in an alternative project specific version of the dynamic document tree.
